Rentocean?s 4000t Demountable Turntable Systems

Published Sep 24, 2014 3:52 PM by The Maritime Executive

The two new 4000t demountable turntable systems were successfully used to load 2x50km of power cable on the Hanjin Pioneer at the LS Cable plant in Donghae, South Korea. LS Cable managed, with the support of RentOcean’s team onside, to have the job done well within their time frame. The vessel is now on its way to Ras Laffan, Qatar where the cables will be installed between Ras Laffan and Halul.

To meet the present and future electrical power demand of Halul island, LS Cable will supply and install two submarine power cables between Ras Laffan and the island. LS Cable has appointed RentOcean to supply two 4000T demountable turntable systems and accompanying equipment for transport of the cable.

RentOcean’s turntable series are designed for flexibility and quick mobilisation. The modular systems are delivered to the mobilisation site in 40 ft containers. All system components are “plug and play” and interchangeable. As a result of this new philosophy the equipment is sea and road transportable and can be mobilised to any port around the world in a highly cost effective manner.

"We are excited that with our support LS Cable has managed to finish the loading of the cable on time. It shows our commitment to work towards a successful completion of the project together with our client. The RentOcean team took up and met the challenge to build, mobilise, assemble and operate the turntable systems within such a short time frame, that it is something we can be proud of, says Managing Director of RentOcean, Lex van Doorn''.
