Mainboard-listed rig builders Keppel Corp and Sembcorp Marine on Sunday strongly denied allegations that they paid bribes in Brazil's energy sector, which has been embroiled in a massive corruption scandal, the Straits Times reported.

The companies were responding to a report on the website of Brazilian news magazine Veja which alleged that representatives of Keppel Fels Brasil and SembMarine's Jurong Aracruz shipyard paid more than US$6 million (S$8.1 million) in bribes.
