Topaz Mamlaka Orders SOLASOLV® Sunscreens
Solar Solve Marine, the British manufacturer of SOLASOLV® anti-glare, heat rejecting roller screens for navigation windows has won a contract to supply 35 SOLASOLV® screens to the newly built Topaz Mamlaka, the 5220 BHP, 1300 DWT bollard pull Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel.
Solar Solve have specialized in providing sun and glare protection to the marine and offshore industry for almost 30 years. SOLASOLV® anti-glare screens are installed at the windows of all types of ships, rigs and cranes worldwide. Regarded as essential safety equipment, the screens effectively reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun, significantly reducing eye-strain and fatigue, and improving outward visibility. SOLASOLV® sunscreens are the only screens in the world to be Type Approved by DNV-GL, Lloyds’ and ABS.
Mamlaka, which means ‘Kingdom’ in Arabic, is a 61.8 meters Dynamic Positioning 2 (DP2) vessel constructed by Berjaya Dockyard in Malaysia. The vessel was bought as part of a contract with an oil major for one of their key markets and it currently in Dubai being prepared for deployment in the Gulf.
