HMS Global Maritime a Finalist in Business of the Year Awards
HMS Global Maritime was honored as a finalist in Louisville Business First’s annual Business of the Year Awards in the “Large Company of the Year” category. President and CEO, John Waggoner, along with colleagues and employees, attended the annual gala event held December 10, 2015 at The Henry Clay, as the representative of the company. Over 400 people attended the event, honoring finalists in six different categories.
Three finalists were chosen by the editorial board of Louisville Business First, following reader nominations of companies who were seen as examples of success and excellence throughout the past year. Winners of each category were selected by a panel of five business leaders from the area and were announced at the gala.
HMS Global Maritime has seen significant growth in the past five years. Growth in 2015 is mostly attributed to18 sold-out, back-to-back cruises booked onboard the American Empress; numerous prestigious awards within the company’s overnight cruise division, American Queen Steamboat Company; two new contracts within the Ferries Division, HMS Ferries; and the purchase of an additional building in New Albany, Indiana to continue local growth.
This recognition is one of several received by the company throughout 2015. Other awards received include inclusion in the Inc. 5000 list, as well as ranking 49th in Louisville Business First’s Fast Fifty Awards.
