HB Rentals Moves Onshore with HWD Drilling Oil Field Housing Project

Published Jan 26, 2016 9:54 AM by The Maritime Executive

HB Rentals has enjoyed years of success supporting offshore Mexico vessel and platform work with temporary living quarters solutions serviced out of their Ciudad del Carmen operating and service facility. Now the company has moved onshore with one of its first rig site housing projects in the Mexican oil drilling land market in support of HWD (Horizontal Well Drilling) of Purcell, Oklahoma.

Project scope includes an accommodation skid house for the national oil company representative, a crew house, a directional drilling house, a laundry / recreation skid, and a galley / diner complex – all to accommodate 37 personnel at the remote drilling location. HB Rentals supported the mobilization from Ciudad del Carmen to the Villahermosa region, site installation with use of a crane, and will manage fresh water delivery, sewage pump and haul, onsite power generators and satellite TV service.

“Our experienced operations team was able to rapidly deploy and outfit existing inventory of oil field living quarters from our del Carmen yard. The outfitting required office furniture, specialized galley equipment, customized sleeping quarters and recreation room furniture, and special outfitting for the daily operation of the mud logger house. We were able to meet all of HWD’s needs with the oil field accommodation, special outfitted modules, and site auxiliary utility services. We call this an “end-to-end package” in which HB simplifies the process of setting up the client’s rig site by working with just one experienced rig site housing supplier”, said Deidre Toups, President. “We also can go where they need to go. Our drill camps can mobilize very quickly and efficiently when it’s time to move to a new drilling site”, said Toups.

“HB Rentals operational experience in the Mexican oil market was critical to supporting HWD in our first in-country drilling project,” Said Jeremy Klein, President of Horizontal Well Drillers.

“As the Mexican market continues to open up with auctions, new entrants to the Mexican market like HWD can leverage the experience of service companies such as HB Rentals in helping to ensure they can deliver on projects with experienced crews, equipment and processes”, said John Nagel, Vice President of Product Development.
