Herbert-ABS Releases Advanced CargoMax™ Load Management Program for Ships
Herbert-ABS Software Solutions LLC, a leading name in naval regulatory, management, salvage and ship design software, today announced the release of its latest version of CargoMax™ Load Management Program for ships.
CargoMax™, one of the world's premier loading analysis instruments, has set the standards for shipboard stability and load management software for over 30 years. This proven system, which is type approved by major classification societies, helps to maximize cargo utilization, simplify regulatory compliance, monitor margins of safety during cargo operations and improve safety by reducing human error.
"Using this program, which combines rigorously tested algorithms with a simple and intuitive user interface, provides quick and consistent results, ensuring that the safety of the vessel is maintained at all times", said Hendrik Bruhns, President, Herbert-ABS Software Solutions LLC.
Already boasting a robust suite of features, the newly released CargoMax™ 2.1 includes calculation enhancements for load discharge rate monitoring, advanced load/discharge/ballast water exchange sequencing and advanced bulk pile features. Additionally, a fully rendered 3-D graphical display shows tank and cargo fillings, vessel attitude and is fully interactive with pan, zoom, rotate and customizable cutting planes.
A trim optimization tool also has been added and is fully integrated into CargoMax™ 2.1. This powerful, easy-to-use solution takes into account the regulatory aspects under which the vessel operates.
"By utilizing vessel powering characteristics and proposed loading and ballast arrangements, the tool is able to suggest modifications to achieve an optimal trim and draft combination as a way to enhance the fuel efficiency of a vessel while still maintaining regulatory compliance", added Bruhns.
CargoMax™ is available for use on board tankers, bulkers, Ro-Ro's, containerships, barges and other vessel types and is just one of many innovative offerings from Herbert-ABS that fill an important role in safety efforts and energy efficiency for the marine and offshore industries.
