Maritime Mystery: 3 Dead After Working on Ship
Three men who were taken to a local hospital, following an incident aboard a German cargo ship, have sadly died.
Police were called in on Monday morning, reporting that a man had fallen ill aboard the vessel, which had docked at West Dock, Bridge Street in Goole, UK. The man, along with two others, were taken to the hospital by ambulance, but died a short time later.
The men are a 60-year-old German man, and a 38-year-old man and a 33-year-old man from the Philippines.
The ship, Suntis, was carrying timber. Officers said it was too early to say what caused the men's deaths and have not released details of their injuries. All that is known is that they were working on the ship.
Police are now working with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Maritime Agency to establish the circumstances. No arrests have been made.
