Hyundai to Build Two LPG Carriers

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) has won an order to build 2 units of eco-type 22,000m3 class LPG Carrier from Marshall Islands-based U.S.-listed shipowner, StealthGas.

The contracts were signed on Thursday, June 5 in Athens by Mr. Cho Hyung-Rai, Senior Executive Vice President of Hyundai Mipo and Dr. Diamantis Andriotis CTO of StealthGas. The contracts include an option for 2 units exercisable by the owner.

The vessels will be 159m in length, 25.6m in breadth and 17.3m in depth and will be delivered in the 1st quarter of 2017.

This contract is the first deal between StealthGas inc. and Hyundai Mipo.

StealthGas is the world’s leading owner and operator of LPG pressurized carriers in the strategic 3,000-8,000m3 segment with total fleet of 60 vessels including newbuildings.
