Cat Product Link Takes the Guesswork Out of Equipment Management
Technology-Enabled Solution Creates Sustainable Value for Customers
Caterpillar Global Petroleum is pleased to announce the upcoming 2013 launch of Cat® Product LinkTM, Caterpillar’s enterprise telematics solution for the oil and gas market that enables customers, dealers and enterprise users to remotely determine the location, operation and condition of connected Cat products. Product Link will be standard on many of Caterpillar’s larger engines for well servicing, gas compression, drilling and production applications in the Americas and EU. Global release will begin in early 2014 and the availability for other Cat engine platforms will be in the near future.
An innovative tool for equipment management, the Product Link user-friendly interface enables communication between the customer and their equipment assets, and provides comprehensive information about the performance and condition of the equipment. It also enables the user to customize alerts so that critical operations receive immediate attention. Product Link can communicate through several mediums including LAN, satellite or cellular network coverage.
Product Link helps lower owning and operating costs, improve productivity, and offers daily operations support and information for business decisions. It provides quick identification of assets working under capacity and enables the user to reassign equipment where it’s needed most to increase utilization. Through the solution’s detailed asset management, customers can see fuel status, work time versus idle time and upcoming service needs.
“Product Link helps you make efficient use of your data to maximize operations while minimizing inefficiencies,” said Ralph Warner, product support development manager, Caterpillar Oil and Gas. “It simplifies monitoring and management tasks so you get more out of your equipment, reduce downtime, and lower costs, all of which generates a positive impact on the bottom line.”
