Investigators from the Coast Guard, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Transportation Security Administration, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies responded to an alleged bomb threat onboard a cruise ship in Port Canaveral Saturday.
There were 1,800 passengers onboard the Norwegian Sun when officials say an anonymous person called an employee on the ship and said there was a bomb on the 11th deck. Officials evacuated all passengers immediately.
After several hours spent sweeping the ship, no bomb was found.
Passengers were allowed to board the ship around 2 p.m. and the Norwegian Sun safely set sail with 1,894 passengers onboard.
Officials are investigating the source of the bomb threat.
