Maritime Sales Veteran Steve Medved Named New Regional Sales Manager at Drew Marine
Drew Marine welcomed Steve Medved as Regional Sales Manager, North America on May 1, 2012. Mr. Medved will be responsible for executing Drew Marine’s technical solution strategies in North America.
Mr. Medved has 30 years of technical experience and market knowledge in the maritime industry. Most recently, he served as Nalfleet’s Head of Sales in the Americas. In his new position, Steve will report to Michael Cassaras, Senior Vice President of Sales and will provide a key service and support resource for Drew Marine’s clients.
Mr. Cassaras, stated “This is another example of Drew Marine’s continued commitment to providing technical and commercial solutions to the market.”

Drew Marine Safety Opens New Fire, Safety, and Rescue Facility in United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Drew Marine Safety (DMS), a business unit of Drew Marine, is pleased to announce the opening of their newest fire, safety, and rescue (FSR) service facility in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On 1 April 2012, Drew Marine Safety UAE’s experienced technical team began servicing FSR equipment in their class-certified service center, strategically located near all major UAE ports. The full service UAE facility provides inspection, certification and repair of all types of FSR equipment including fixed fire extinguishing systems, fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, portable and fixed gas detection systems, firefighting foam concentrates, medical oxygen, life rafts and life-saving equipment. Their in-house hydrotesting capabilities provide quick turn-a-round for fixed fire extinguishing system cylinder certification. In addition, most equipment and spare parts are available ex-stock.
William Gielen, Drew Marine Safety Global Business Manager says “UAE ports are some of the busiest in the world because of their direct access to the Indian Ocean and proximity to oil producing nations in the Arabian Gulf. Sharjah is an ideal location for a FSR service center”. He adds “Many Drew Marine customers visit UAE ports and by having a FSR service facility in this location, we will be able to provide quality controlled services at a competitive price, to both our existing and new customers”.
