A bulk carrier suffered a rudder failure and crashed into an historic waterfront mansion on the Bosporus Strait, Turkey, on Saturday.

The 225-meter Malta-flagged Vitaspirit hit the Hekimba?? Salih Efendi mansion around 4 p.m. The mansion was built in the 18th century and is now used for events such as weddings and concerts.

Vitaspirit was sailing from Egypt to the Ukraine from Egypt. The accident occurred under the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on Istanbul's Asian side. The area is home to a number of mansions dating back to Ottoman times.

No injuries have been reported, but the building suffered extensive damage and ship traffic was suspended.
