Alan Van Schoor Joins the EPD Global Technical Services Team

Zita Commons, Managing Director of EPD Singapore Services Pte Ltd. (EPD Singapore), an affiliate of Houston-based Electronic Power Design (EPD), announced that Alan Van Schoor has joined EPD Singapore as Field Services Manager. EPD Singapore provides power system components, controls and services to the marine, mining and energy industries in the fast-growing Southeast Asian market. 

“Alan brings over twenty-years of vessel electrical and electronic systems experience to EPD Singapore, which will be invaluable in leading our team of highly skilled engineers and technical representatives,” Commons stated. “His demonstrated ability to solve complicated electrical problems on various classes of vessels and to oversee a broad range of technical management projects will strengthen the company’s ability to respond to our customers’ requirements in a timely and professional manner.”

Van Schoor is a graduate of Johannesburg Tech and has worked on container vessels and offshore vessels as an electrical officer. He is highly skilled with navigational equipment, power generation and management systems, and AC and DC motors. Van Schoor is known as a consummate profession and his ability to minimize vessel downtime and maximize vessel availability for owners. His experience includes commissioning a number of technically advanced anchor handlers, tugs and container ships and working on special projects for the South African Navy.
