Uptime International Announcing Walk to Work Contracts
Uptime International has entered into three new contracts for motion compensated gangways during summertime. Two of the contracts are for purchase and one is for lease to Italian company Navalmare that is doing topside work on the platform Bonaccia in the Adriatic Sea. Sold gangways are signed with Island Offshore from Norway and the Dutch company C-bed.
Both Walk 2 Work gangways will be mounted during Q1 2016
Island Offshore will mount the gangway on their new building Island Diligence which is a multipurpose vessel that due to a wide range of installed equipment is capable to do several different operations like their other multipurpose vessel Island Crown. Their gangway will be mounted on a pedestal that can be split in different length to make it possible to land the gangway in various heights for different charter.
C-bed have announced that they will mount the gangway inclusive a stepless adjustable pedestal on their new build accommodation vessel “M/S Wind Innovation” which is customized to operate as walk to work vessel in windfarms. “M/S Wind Innovation” will be ready for Siemens charter in the wind farm Gemini in February 2016.
“We can see that it gives a good synergy effect on development and learning curve when wind park owners, vessel/equipment designers, charterers and vessel owners/operators are teaming up. Such cooperation has now made it possible for us to transport cargo from cargo store under deck up to and through our Uptime motion compensated gangway.
The fact that this is our fifth contract for dedicated wind farm vessels to be used with forefront and major companies in the renewable industry and that we keep on signing Oil & Gass contracts gives us a vote of confidence and a trigger to stretch for even further development says Sales & Marketing Director Svein Ove Haugen”.
