Palfinger Marine Delivers Equipment Package to Kreuz Subsea's Vessel Design

For this highly innovative newbuilding Palfinger Marine delivers lifesaving equipment in addition to an extensive winch package. Norwegian Deck Machinery (NDM), which was acquired earlier this year by Palfinger Marine, will supply the winch package. This includes two combined windlass/mooring winches, two chain stoppers, two capstans, four 60 t mooring winches (four-point mooring system) inclusive bridge mounted remote control system as well as two HPUs. The lifesaving equipment comprises two totally enclosed life boats for 53 persons and two dedicated life boat davits. Further the contract includes a fast rescue boat with a 170hp inboard motor and a fast rescue boat davit. All equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2016.

The vessel for the Singapore-based integrated offshore subsea service provider Kreuz Subsea is designed and constructed by VARD. The DP2 class vessel, with a total length of 91.2 meters a beam of 21.5 meters, is prepared for Remote Operating Vehicles (ROVs) and will be used to for diving support and subsea construction duties. The delivery to Kreuz Subsea from Vard Søviknes is scheduled in the second quarter of 2017.
