New Project for ?stensj? Rederi and Gondan Shipyard

Once again, Østensjø Rederi AS trusts Gondan Shipyard for the construction of an innovative unit that will perform maintenance operations on Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm in the United Kingdom, for the charterer Dong Energy.

Østensjø Rederi AS, has informed Figueras shipyard of the awarding of the construction of a new Service Operation Vessel, which will provide services in the emerging field of the renewable energies.

The ship will be designed by Rolls Royce Marine, under the name UT 540 WP and will have alength of 81 m and a beam of 17 m. She will provide the necessary means and services for more than 30 specialized technicians to perform maintenance on the wind towers.

Among her features, the vessel will have a motion compensated gangway system with an adjustable pedestal that will enable the transfer of maintenance personnel from the ship to the workspace on a stable and safe surface.

Her delivery is scheduled for second half of 2017.

Currently, Gondan Shipyard is building three - also innovative - vessels for the same Norwegian shipowner. With this new project, Østensjø Rederi and Gondan Shipyard totalize12 vessels built together, proving the solid and long-lasting relationship between the two companies.
