Independence Seaport Museum Celebrates Coast Guard's Birthday

On Friday, August 3, the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia will celebrate the 228th birthday of the United States Coast Guard. Enjoy ice cream from Franklin Fountain and cake, giveaways, and more. Discover the history of this military branch and learn about the important role of the local Coast Guard auxiliary station. 

The celebration is the perfect way to end a summer day at the Museum, or to start your night of fun activities on the Delaware River waterfront. The Coast Guard will put on safety demonstrations throughout the day inside the Museum. The celebration takes place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and is free to the public.
