Guidance Marine Enters Strategic Partnership with Sonardyne in Brazil

Guidance Marine Ltd, the leading developer and supplier of local position reference sensors for Dynamic Positioning (DP) in the offshore market, has established a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with subsea technology company, Sonardyne Brazil Ltda to provide support for its Artemis® product in Brazil. Under the terms of the MOU announced today, Sonardyne is available to carry out on Guidance Marine's behalf, equipment servicing and repair for the Artemis system, a microwave position reference sensor for use in long range marine Dynamic Positioning (DP) applications.

Sonardyne is well known for its underwater acoustic and inertial navigation equipment which is operational in every deep water field in Brazil and complementary to Guidance Marine's own DP product offering. The company has had a permanent presence in the country for over 24 years and in 2012, opened a custom-built facility in Rio das Ostras near Macaé to provide operational support, equipment servicing and operator training.

Having successfully completed the full acquisition of the Artemis product and brand from CHL Netherlands in March 2015, the agreement with Sonardyne strengthens Guidance Marine's support capabilities in the region and enhances the company's ability to respond quickly and efficiently to the needs of Artemis customers who include Petrobras and vessel operator Transpetro, among others, such as Modec, SBM and Teekay.
