Conley Marine Services Purchasing Kody Marine

Conley Marine Services of New Orleans announced its acquisition of Kody Marine located on the Harvey Canal in metro New Orleans. The sale includes all business and physical assets of Kody Marine.

Conley Marine Services (CMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of DoD prime contractor Conley Associates, Inc, engineers SubChapter M specific regulatory compliance and maintenance provisioning for the United States Inland Towing Industry. CMS has offices in New Orleans, St Louis and Newport News.

“Full service yards and repair facilities offering economical solutions for workboats of lighter tonnage and smaller horsepower are few in number. The effect of SubChapter M statutory inspections and ongoing maintenance requirements places tremendous budgetary pressure on fleet managers. Conley helps vessel owners achieve significant savings through optimization of consultancy, maintenance and yard services.”

CMS plans to invest handsomely in the yard’s three+ acre physical plant by upgrading the machine shop, tool room, dockside moorings, paint shed, carpenter shop and project management offices. The yard boasts a 1000-ton drydock and two 100-ton cranes with additional HME. Conley’s ISO 9001-2015 Program will be adopted for yard quality control with oversight from Conley’s team of quality experts.

The new facility will be branded Conley Marine Maintenance & Repair. The transaction is expected to be complete by September 2018.
