Bahamas Maritime Authority Appoints Captain Dwain Hutchinson as Acting Managing Director/CEO

Effective from the 15th January 2018, the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) has appointed Captain Dwain Hutchinson  in the capacity of Acting Managing Director/CEO of the BMA following the retirement of Commodore Davy Rolle. Captain Hutchinson is a Master Mariner bringing over 30 years of shipping experience and knowledge to this role having been employed in various management capacities within the BMA, served as Chairman of IMO Flag State Implementation – FSI (re-named Implementation of IMO Instruments -III) Sub-Committee and is the current Vice Chairman of Caribbean Port State Control Committee.

The BMA Board of Directors extended its appreciation to Commodore Rolle for his exemplary service to the BMA. The Board expressed its confidence that under Captain Hutchinson’s leadership, along with the support of the BMA management team and staff, the Bahamas Registry will continue to grow and provide a quality service to its ship-owners and all stakeholders.
