J. Brady Marine Secures 2 FSV Builds

Published Oct 4, 2013 1:32 PM by The Maritime Executive

J. Brady Marine has signed a contract with Swiftships Shipbuilders, LLC, to build two Fast Supply Vessels (FSVs) with an additional 8 boat option over the next 5 years. These vessels will support J. Brady’s continued expansion into the oil and gas industry. The new FSVs will add to J. Brady’s existing fleet, providing expanded capabilities in the Gulf Coast Region. The first two vessels are scheduled to be delivered in 2014.

The FSVs are built in accordance to ABS class and DP-2 regulations. Swiftships’ all-welded aluminum vessels are designed to transport personnel and supplies to offshore facilities. Its lightweight superstructure coupled with Swiftships’ proprietary design allow for high-speed performance and delivery capabilities.

“With over 50 years of experience building commercial vessels and an impressive record for building a quality product, our team decided it would be a natural fit to have Swiftships spearhead the development for J. Brady’s expansion needs,” said Joe Brady, Owner, J. Brady Marine, LLC.

Swiftships, established in 1969, is an ISO 9001:2008 certified shipbuilder located in the heart of South Central Louisiana. Swiftships specializes in the construction of small to medium-sized vessels constructed of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass. J. Brady Marine, LLC was formed in 2006, by Joseph A. Brady. In early 2013, Joe Brady and his team including Nicolas Collins and Nat Collins, began to explore their options for expanding their capabilities in the Gulf. After several meetings with Swiftships, J. Brady Marine decided to focus its expansion in the Fast Supply Vessel (FSV) market.
