Voyager Maritime Alliance Group (VMAG), headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, is pleased to be celebrating its 20 years in business.  President, David Leone, VMAG started up after he completed 20 years in the Coast Guard.  His dream was to build his own custom 115ft yacht and while doing so, he soon realized there was a gap in the market place for an organization to integrate all the electronics, navigation, communication, and it was at this time, VMAG was born.

20 years later, the company is one of the most well-respected in the world, providing integrated marine electronics, navigation, communication, entertainment, monitoring and security using over 30 specialized manufacturers for fleets of commercial ships, luxury yachts and military vessels.   All of VMAGs’ technical staff undergoes regular training, to make sure that they are kept up-to-date with the latest technology and new products.  VMAG focuses on seamless integration, no matter how many different companies are involved in the equation.  VMAG has a strong relationship with most of the major players in the industry, and this has meant they are able to provide better service and pricing to their clients as well as customized solutions, based on their specific needs.

Commenting on the company’s achievements, David Leone, President, VMAG said “The yachting industry is traditionally a very volatile environment and is very much affected by the economy.  We are truly blessed to still be in business and doing well after so many years.  I have to thank my wonderful, dedicated and hardworking team who has made our company what it is today”.

VMAG has been involved in some very unusual projects.  Over the years, given its specialized products and services, the company has seen many unique requests, including controlling heated bathroom floors from the bedside and custom TV’s that pop out of floors and walls to maximize space. Other, more practical and complicated needs include providing complete remote vessel control and security monitoring for a ship from any location in the world via iPhone or iPad. VMAG’s systems have even assisted a ship in finding its tender, which had been lost in a storm.
