[Brief] The Canadian Armed Forces have released new footage of the recent medevac of two injured crewmembers of the MOL Prestige. On February 1, Prestige reported an engine room fire at a position some 200 nm off Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. A SAR helicopter crew with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) responded to the scene and evacuated two injured seafarers, who had both suffered minor burn injuries. An RCAF helicopter returned the following day to evacuate a third crewmember.

The fire was extinguished shortly after it was reported, and the remaining crew on board have power and communications thanks to the ship's emergency generator. The tug Denise Foss was chartered to take the container ship in tow and bring her into an unnamed port for repairs. The Prestige's owner reported on Monday that towing operations have commenced, and she is expected to arrive at her destination February 10.
