USMS Superintendent of the USMMA to Visit New Orleans During International WorkBoat Show

RADM James Helis, USMS, USMS Superintendent of the United States Merchant Marine Academy will visit the alumni chapters in Houston, New Orleans and Mobile during December 5th-8th, 2012. The invitation to all chapters in this greater region is extended so as many graduates as possible can hear and meet the Admiral.

The New Orleans Chapter will host the Admiral on Dec 6th and 7th during the New Orleans International WorkBoat Show with a tour of Port Fourchon, C-Port 1 and a Tidewater Marine DP-2 vessel on Thursday December 6th then back to our annual social at Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar. On Friday, the Admiral will attend the IRPT Joint KP breakfast and then the Workboat Show. Friday night is our annual Creole Queen cocktail cruise in his honor. Saturday the Admiral will attend a luncheon with our Mobile alumni and if time permits, visit Ingalls Shipyard.

Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar Social December 6, 2012 - All hands are welcome to our annual Social event for the Workboat Show. Open bar + food. Come mingle with RADM James Helis, Superintendent USMMA.

Creole Queen Cocktail Cruise with Superintendent December 7, 2012 - 3 Hour river cruise with open bar and food in honor of RADM James Helis, USMS, Superintendent of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY is our guest of honor on the Creole Queen. We are offering sponsorships to corporations and individuals willing to help our local chapter offset the cost of this event.
