EU NAVFOR reports that on February 9, the products tanker, MV IRENE SL was pirated approximately 350 nautical miles southeast of Muscat in the North Arabian Sea.
The Greek flagged and owned tanker was en route to the U.S. with $200 million worth of oil from Kuwait onboard, when she was attacked. Details of the attack are currently unknown. Officials report no communication with the crew of 25 (7 Greek, 1 Georgian and 17 Filipinos).
