Donjon Shipyard Accident Results in Fatality

A worker at Donjon Shipbuilding & Repair was killed in a shipbuilding accident on Wednesday morning.
The coroner on scene stated that the man, later identified as 48-year-old Craig Plyler, became entangled in machinery while working on a crane at the Erie, Pennsylvania shipyard. He was suspended 100 feet in the air at the time of the incident; rescue crews had to use a fire department ladder truck to retrieve the body.
The Erie County coroner confirmed that Plyler died of trauma injuries. Donjon officials have no officially commented on the incident.
The accident was reported about 8:40 a.m. Wednesday.
