Cruise Line Popularity in Seattle

Norwegian, Holland America Line, and Princess have ships based in Seattle this year. And, Celebrity has Friday sailings there this year.

So, a year after opening its second terminal, the Port of Seattle is thinking about building a third terminal to accommodate the demand. A single-berth terminal is under consideration, and it would allow the port to handle four ships at one time.

The number of sailing has grown from a few to more than 150 this year, and a record 250,000 passengers are expected to depart from Seattle in 2004.

Two lines are considering weekday sailings next year, as Norwegian Cruise Lines plans to offer about twelve 11-day cruises to Alaska. Celebrity plans to offer seven shorter cruises to the Pacific Northwest.
