Veritas Petroleum Appoints New MD, Americas
Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) is pleased to announce that Michael McNamara has been appointed as Managing Director for the Americas.
McNamara, who holds an MBA in international business and finance from Oklahoma City University, is an experienced executive with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives that deliver significant results.
Eirik Andreassen, Managing Director of DNVPS commented, “We want to provide more value to our customers. Our new R&D laboratory will undertake specific and in-depth analysis of fuel quality, troubleshooting, development of new test methods and services.”
Most recently, McNamara was Associate Vice President, Energy Management at Royal Caribbean Cruises where he was responsible for coordinating global strategies for all aspects of the company’s fuel exposure and energy expense across all of the corporation’s cruise and airline operations including procurement; emission abatement; fuel/emission regulation; fuel hedging; and energy efficiency.
“We are very pleased to have Michael on board as he brings with him broad industry experience, high analytical skills, leadership capabilities and a wide range of functional skills,” said Andreassen.

Prior to joining Royal Caribbean Cruises in 1999, McNamara spent 11 years in the oil and gas industry covering a broad range of functions, including exploration and production; processing and distribution; mergers and acquisitions; international business development; strategic planning; and risk management.
McNamara assumed his post on January 12, 2015.
