McNamara, who holds an MBA in international business and finance from Oklahoma City University, is an experienced executive with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives that deliver significant results.

Eirik Andreassen, Managing Director of DNVPS commented, “We want to provide more value to our customers. Our new R&D laboratory will undertake specific and in-depth analysis of fuel quality, troubleshooting, development of new test methods and services.”

Most recently, McNamara was Associate Vice President, Energy Management at Royal Caribbean Cruises where he was responsible for coordinating global strategies for all aspects of the company’s fuel exposure and energy expense across all of the corporation’s cruise and airline operations including procurement; emission abatement; fuel/emission regulation; fuel hedging; and energy efficiency.

"I have long been a customer of VPS and look forward to contributing to its industry-leading quality work. These are very dynamic times in the marine fuel and broader maritime industry, and I am confident that the entire VPS organisation is best positioned to assist its customers in managing the risks associated with these changes,” added McNamara.
