At the Texas Railroad Commission's (RRC) Open Meeting, Commissioner Christi Craddick was unanimously elected by her peers to serve as Chairman of the RRC, replacing outgoing Chair David Porter who will be vacating his seat on the three-member panel at the beginning of 2017.

The following statement can be attributed to Bob Osborne, Chairman of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, regarding the election of Craddick as Chairman and Porter's departure from the Commission:

"On behalf of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, I would like to sincerely congratulate newly-elected Chairman Christi Craddick as she once again takes on the important role of leading the historic Railroad Commission of Texas. Craddick's steady guidance and unwavering dedication to improving the agency and the industry it regulates has certainly served the state well over her nearly five years on the Commission. We look forward to continuing to work closely with her -especially now, as the RRC undergoes yet another Sunset Review during the 85th Legislative Session; as a new administration takes control in Washington DC; and as our industry continues to struggle through one of the most drastic downturns to date. Thank you, Chairman Craddick, for your continued leadership and congratulations once again.

"The Alliance would also like to publicly and wholeheartedly thank outgoing Commissioner David Porter for his six years of service to the State of Texas, and for all his diligent work to promote open communication and increase transparency at the Commission. From day one, Porter has been a strong advocate for the industry and has taken a hard stance against attempts to dismantle or weaken the RRC, in addition to pushing back against the federal government's repeated regulatory overreach. Porter has always exhibited a level thoughtfulness and consistency that we, as an industry, appreciate deeply. Thank you, Commissioner Porter, and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors."
