NAVIMON Entrusts PIRIOU with the Renewal of its Fleet of Eight Longliners
NAVIMON, a subsidiary of the semi-public company SODIL and first fishing operator in New Caledonia, has just confirmed the order for a series of eight 20.7 metres longliners dedicated to tuna long line fishing in the New Caledonia economic exclusive zone. The first two vessels will be delivered by the end of 2018 and the following deliveries are scheduled up to the end of 2020.
This order shows NAVIMON’s renewed confidence towards the PIRIOU group which built the eight longliners of its fleet between 1998 and 2000.
These new vessels will ensure more comfort for the sailors, will make easier maintenance operations, optimise operating expenses and answer the issues related to security and environment compliance.
Vincent FAUJOUR, PIRIOU group General Manager said: ‘We are very happy we have retained NAVIMON’s confidence as a long-time customer over nearly twenty years after their first vessels. Following our latest orders and deliveries in La Reunion island, this new contract allows us to maintain and increase our presence in the sector of artisanal and industrial fishing both in the French Overseas Territories and in France’.
