Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES) will deliver eight STSs (Ship-to-Shore Gantry Cranes or Mitsui-Paceco Portainer) and 20 RTGs (Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes or Mitsui-Paceco Transtainer) to New Priok Container Terminal in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The order was booked by PT. New Priok Container Terminal One (‘NPCT1’), a project company established by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero), Mitsui & Co, PSA International and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, which is engaged in construction and operation of the new container terminal.

STSs to be delivered in the project will be the largest ship-to-shore cranes in Indonesia which can handle the world-largest container vessels. Of the 20 RTGs, five will be hybrid RTGs with Li-Ion battery and the remainder will be E-RTGs with conductor bus-bar systems. Both systems are expected to enable drastic energy saving as well as eco-friendly container handling activities.

MES is proud in its 50 years’ experience and has supplied over 300 STSs and 1,100 RTGs all over the world. Their proven quality and performance with high productivity is widely supported by users around the world.

MES has just completed delivery of another 13 RTGs to the Port of Tanjung Priok, Indonesia and will extend the crane supply to the Indonesian market which is currently booming.
