On September 27, Advanced Mechanical Enterprises (AME) held a training for maritime professionals on how to minimize maintenance costs using condition monitoring. A group of masters, chief engineers, chief mates and professional ship managers joined AME president Rich Merhige at Maritime Professional Training in Fort Lauderdale for a two-hour discussion on the ways that condition monitoring can help their operations.

AME specializes in using high-tech vibration analysis to determine the health of engines, shaftlines, pumps, gearboxes and other mission-critical equipment. These analytical services can be used to inform predictive, preventive or corrective maintenance.

Merhige and AME Solutions have been commissioned to consult on some of the most complex vibration and alignment projects, including yachts, commercial vessels, pumping stations, power plants and manufacturing facilities around the world. AME is recognized by the American Bureau of Shipping as an external specialist for condition monitoring,  and an authorized distributor for PRUFTECHNIK Laser Alignment & Condition Monitoring Systems, Windrock Diesel Engine Condition Monitoring Systems and Wartsila Seals and Bearings.
