Swiftships' First Annual Open House

Published Sep 4, 2013 2:55 PM by The Maritime Executive

Swiftships Shipbuilders, LLC, held its First Annual Open House to celebrate new builds for expansion in the Oil and Gas industry. As both a military and commercial shipbuilder, Swiftships has been steady building patrol craft for the Iraqi and Egyptian Navies to help aid in the wars in the Middle East thus leaving commercial shipbuilding on hold. However, with the growth of the Iraqi Navy meeting defense demand, Swiftships’ focus has returned to the commercial market.

Swiftships’ Open House was held at its flagship shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana, where operators and vendors who attend the event were able to tour the facility, meet Swiftships’ team, and mingle with other industry leaders. With four commercial vessels under construction, these tours allowed Swiftships to display shipbuilding at each phase. Though currently under development with University of Louisiana Lafayette for applying autonomous technology, Swiftships’ Special Operations Craft Riverine (SOCR) was also displayed at the Open House. Also known as “Project Anaconda” this vessel is a direct representation of Swiftships vision to provide clients with the most innovative technology in the market.

Swiftships’ Open House was a huge success as partners both nationally and internationally attended the event. Swiftships looks forward to hosting an Open House every year to honor past clients for their business, and to display its facility and capabilities to potential clients.
