Published Jul 30, 2013 11:00 AM by The Maritime Executive

Following clarification and refining of technical requirements, Isle of Wight-based Marine Data Systems have been awarded a contract directly with the Australian Government, Department of Defence to provide Bridge Compass Repeaters for the entire fleet of Collins Class Submarines currently undergoing upgrading and refurbishment in Australia.

Marine Data Managing Director, Tim Ingram, commented: “This is another large contract received inside 18 months from the Royal Australian Navy and is a great start to our new financial year which is already looking very promising. The equipment has to be designed, built, environmentally tested and shipped within 8 weeks but I am confident our team will meet this challenge.

“Global awareness of our products, capabilities and commitment to quality has certainly increased since receiving the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade last year.”
