Maritime Security 2013 West Conference Relocated to Long Beach, CA Announcement made May 1, 2013 by Neak Media, LLC

On May 1, 2013, Homeland Security Outlook (HSO) announced that Maritime Security 2013 West has been relocated to Long Beach, CA on August 19-21, 2013. Maritime Security 2013 West will no longer be in San Diego, CA from August 26-28, 2013.

The change of venue resulted from a variety of partnerships developed between HSO and government agencies. These partnerships are designed to enhance the experience of conference participants and catalyze maritime security discussion. The new event venue, Hilton Long Beach at 701 West Ocean Blvd., allows for effective use of space at a cost savings that will be reflected in lower sponsorship rates.

As a result of the venue change, all participants can tour the Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center, located mere minutes from the conference hotel. The Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center is a joint effort between the Port of Los Angeles, State of California Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to produce the country's first maritime training center designated for state and local law enforcement. A boat tour of the Port of LA/Long Beach will also be conducted in conjunction with the facility tour. These tours are open to all conference registrants and will be conducted in groups of up to twenty.

Relocation to Long Beach also allows HSO to continue partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate to demonstrate the Maritime Security Program Coastal Surveillance System (CSS), currently used in Long Beach by U.S. Customs & Border Patrol Air and Marine Operations Center. CSS allows stakeholders increased access to critical information by fusing radar feeds, cameras, sensors, and other information to provide comprehensive awareness of a given area. CSS was debuted publically at HSO's previous event, Maritime Security 2013 East on April 15, 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL.

Demonstrations are open to all conference registrants and will be conducted in groups of up to twenty.
