1ST TWORTY BOXES Arrived in Hamburg
The Tworty Box has been developed to be used either as a standard ISO 20ft or coupled with another Tworty Box as a 40ft container to gain more flexibility in container equipment logistics in order to significantly reduce the costly empty positioning of containers.
The first pair of the so-called Tworty Boxes has now arrived in Hamburg for further on carriage to Riga/Latvia. The boxes have been built under license of Hamburg based TWORTY BOX GmbH & Co. KG by Singamas in China as the world's 2ndbiggest container manufacturer. Container owner ESTMA of Estonia is intending to use them within its transport chains which require varying container sizes in each trade direction. ESTMA's Tworty Boxes which are of high cube type have been carried by OOCL on Hapag-Lloyd's "Hongkong Express" and were discharged on Oct 30 at Hamburg's CTA container terminal (see enclosed images).
