Oman Shipping Accepts New VLCC

Oman Shipping Company has accepted a delivery of the SAMAIL, a VLCC, from Universal Shipbuilding Corporation of Kawasaki, Japan. 

The 300,000-dwt SAMAIL is the 29th vessel to be operated by Oman Shipping, and waves a Panamanian flag.  It is the first VLCC to be managed by Oman Shipping’s subsidiary, Oman Ship Management company (S.A.O.C.).  The SAMAIL measures out at 330mx60m, and is the 10th crude oil vessel of Oman Shipping’s fleet.

Oman Shipping Company’s fleet boasts a diversified collection of 10 VLCCs, 1 VLGC, 7 LNGs, 4 Chemical Carriers, 4 Product Tankers, 2 Multipurpose Heavy Lift Vessels, 1 Supramax Bulk Carrier. They currently have the delivery of 12 more vessels on order, providing the  company to reach 8 million-dwt before 2013.

S.A.O.C. is currently under management of 8 vessels, including 6 LNG carriers, 1 Chemical Tanker, and 1 VLCC (SAMAIL).
