Monarch of the Seas Rescues 6 From Raft in Bahamas

On Monday Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas returned to Port Canaveral with six extra passengers after a four-day cruise to the Bahamas.
The day before a passenger onboard spotted a raft just west of Freeport, in cold weather and rough seas. Crew onboard the cruise ship pulled the six people onboard the raft to safety where they were fed and given medical treatment.
The six people have been turned over to the U.S. Coast Guard who is treating those needing medical attention.
The people will be processed and officials will make determinations as to whether or not they will be repatriated.
Some reports say the six people are Cuban, however officials have yet to confirm the nationalities or conditions of the people.
