Recently, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government issued the “The 12th Five-Year Plan for Speeding up the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center”. Following the general requirement of speeding up the construction of “Four Centers” and fulfilling the “Four Firsts”, accelerating the allocation of resources for the international shipping centre, developing high-end shipping services and quickening shipping power are the core values of the scheme. Gathering cargoes, vessels, enterprises, human resources, information technology and techniques are the core elements of the strategy for improving global shipping resources, as part of the aim to build a stronger international shipping centre.
Marintec China was founded in 1981 and has witnessed the progress and development of the Chinese and global maritime industry. Marintec China is now the largest maritime trade show in Asia, and is recognized as one of the top maritime events in the world. In the release of “The 12th Five-Year Plan for Speeding up the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center”, Marintec China has been included in the plan to promote maritime cultural construction. “China Maritime Museum, Shanghai International Shipping Forum, Marintec China and Maritime Day of China are key elements for maximizing the social impact of the Shanghai international shipping centre, so as to promote the development of the maritime industry. The “Shanghai International Shipping Forum” has been incorporated as one of the forums for discussion in the Senior Maritime Forum starting from 2011, signifying the prominence of Marintec China in the “12th Five Year Plan”.
