PortVision Launches 'Incident Response' Package; Provides Enhanced Operational Capabilities for Use

PortVision, a web-based information service providing historical and real-time information on commercial vessel activities, announced today the availability of its PortVision Incident Response package. The service will provide additional capabilities to PortVision customers to effectively manage resources during situations that significantly impact operations, such as hurricanes, salvage operations, oil spills or other events.

“Our new PortVision Incident Response service provides incident response personnel with resource management tools that significantly improve the logistics of incident response”, said Dean Rosenberg, President of PortVision. “The service provides visualization and management tools for use during an active response, along with historic reporting tools to support billing, compliance, and best practice review after the response. Our goal is to reduce the impact of major incidents on operations to keep commerce flowing while also enhancing the safety and security of ports and inland waterways.”

PortVision customers will have the option to request incident response as required. PortVision will provide customers with priority access to additional subscriber accounts and PV Tracker units to increase visibility and asset management for the duration of the event. It also includes elevated support from PortVision staff, including access to FEMA-certified ICS personnel. Benefits of the service include:

• Improve situational awareness for incident response personnel in real time.
• Validate claims and contract compliance with response vendors.
• Enhance the safety and security of nearby assets.
• Provide a repository of historical information for use in future claims, analysis, training, investigation or other operational needs.
• Provide managers in “headquarters” or offsite locations access to see the current position of assets and impact to local waterway users
• Manage vessel traffic in remote areas from the “command post”
