SEACOR Marine’s newest vessel has been christened as the John G. McCall in honor of the many achievements Mr. John Gellert has been part of during his tenure with the company. The naming ceremony took place in Houma, LA on December 5th and the new vessel was built at Gulf Craft, Inc. in Patterson, Louisiana, taking 14 months from start to completion. SEACOR Marine operates the second largest fleet of offshore marine support vessels, with vessels servicing the global offshore oil and gas exploration and production industry.

Mr. Gellert first started with parent company, SEACOR Holdings Inc., as an intern while working on his Bachelor’s Degree at Harvard University. After graduating with a degree in American History in 1992, Mr. Gellert joined the company full-time as an Associate. Over the subsequent years, John has traveled the globe tirelessly during his business pursuits on behalf of the company. In each place he has visited, John’s easy-going demeanor and salesmanship has been well-received and has garnered him many lifelong friends, including an African Chief. John was promoted to his current position as Senior Vice President of Offshore Marine Services in 2005.

Note: John’s full name is John G. Gellert. The vessel name bears the name “McCall” keeping it consistent with vessels in the Fast Crew / Support class.

SEACOR Marine operates over 250 vessels globally, with operations in the United States, Latin America, the North Sea, the Mediterranean, West Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
