During Europort Rotterdam 2015 Veth Propulsion has won a contract from Padmos Stellendam BV to deliver 3 Veth Z-drives including diesel engines with driving shafts and a generator set to the ART10-15 Training Rotortug "RT Borkum."

"Already at an early stage we got together with Robert Allan and Rotortug and the Veth Z-drives were part of the design of the vessel. Therefore, it was nice that Michael Fitzpatrick, Vice President Robert Allan, and Evan Willems, Managing Director Rotortug, were present during the contract signing, "said Martin van der Jagt, General Sales Manager Veth Propulsion.

The 10 tons bollard pull tug is designed by Robert Allan Ltd from Vancouver and will be used as a training vessel in addition to simulation training. She will be outfitted according to superior yacht quality and will at the same time serve as a representation – and display vessel to show the Rotortug principle to prospective clients.

In addition, the aim is to test innovations, which can then be applied to larger tugs. To implement innovations short communication lines, in the same language, quick decisions and converting innovative ideas into testable products are necessary. "And therefore Ton Kooren choose us a partner," said van der Jagt. "Because we provide the entire propulsion system, Rotortug has one point of contact within Veth Propulsion for all product innovations in the future."

Years of cooperation and mutual trust were the reason for Padmos to cooperate with Veth Propulsion. Currently we are collaborating on the refit with Veth Z-drives for tugboat Saturnus.
