Safebridge Announces Launch of ECDIS Training
Safebridge is pleased to announce launch of the Simrad E5024 type specific ECDIS training that is required for all watch keeping officers on-board of an E5024 ECDIS equipped SOLAS vessel.
The Simrad E5024 ECDIS, which is introduced step by step in the Safebridge training course, is the latest type-approved navigation system from Navico. The new E5000 processor generation includes two powerful independently operating quad core CPUs, and dual monitor outputs to drive two displays with independent information. One CPU is running ECDIS software, the other is running Navico’s NSO evo2 multifunction display software.
A special feature is the opportunity to connect two processors through Ethernet to form a PLECDIS providing a fully compliant paperless navigation solution. The simple installation of the modular E5024 ECDIS either as single- or dual station configuration is ideal for SOLAS vessels required to retrofit ECDIS in order to meet amended SOLAS requirements. As a matter of course AIO, Radar, AIS & ARPA Overlays are fully supported on the E5024.
With this ECDIS, Navico introduces a simple menu structure enabling the operator to
•work intuitively with the wireless trackball controller and the on-screen keyboard
