Renovations on Royal Caribbean Ships and Crystal Cruises Esprit
Crystal Cruises’ Esprit
In the works now for Sea Level Marine is the highly anticipated refit of Crystal Cruises’ Esprit, formerly Star Cruise Lines’ Megastar Taurus. One hundred and eight of Sea Level’s highly skilled marine carpenters, electricians, pipefitters and painters will be fully remodeling 30 elegantly appointed suites, one penthouse, as well as corridors on Decks 2 and 3 and forward staircase lobbies with stylish finishes and cutting edge technology.
To reduce energy costs and create dramatic lighting effects, a new Lutron Systems Graphic Eye-controlled LED lighting package will replace the industry standard halogen lighting. Bathrooms will be equipped with waterproof, IP65-rated “Magic Mirror” flat panel TVs behind the vanity mirrors.
Suites will receive new furnishings, closet systems, paint, artwork, and custom cabinetry as well beautifully selected granite and marble countertops. Ceramic tiling in the bathrooms will be upgraded to Saltillo white marble and frameless shower enclosures will be installed. In addition to Suite upgrades, the Penthouse will feature a full, walk-in closet and Ariano white polished marble on both the floors and walls of the bathroom.
The four week refit will be completed in November 2015.
Royal Caribbean Renovations
As part of a fleet-wide revitalization, Sea Level Marine contributed to renovation efforts on Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, October 17-November 21, 2013, and Explorer of the Seas from March 12-April 19, 2015. On the docket were renovations to the Windjammer Café, sports bar, and the addition of an art gallery and Chops Grille. Windjammer Café received a facelift which included new or totally refurbished furniture, new waiter and hostess stations and ceiling panels and carpeting. The ship’s former sports bar reemerged as an upscale, English style pub with a plank ceiling, wood veneers, and all new tables and seating. An art gallery replaced a former lounge area which included sleek, curved, display panels, new paint, ceiling, and trim. Also added was the fleet’s, now signature, Chops Grille. Built in the style of an American steakhouse, the design expresses a soothing and sophisticated feel with soft window treatments, sofa style, fixed banquettes, and new flooring.
Crystal Symphony Extensive Refurbishment
Taking place September 9-23, 2014, Crystal Cruises’ Crystal Symphony underwent its most extensive renovation to date. Sea Level Marine was a key player in the refurbishment of the Plaza, Fitness Garden, Casino, Spa, and ADA Penthouse cabin.
Spa and salon renovations included new tiling in the changing rooms and new pedicure stations, while the gym was reconfigured to accommodate new cardio equipment. Further enhancements include the creation of an exterior Fitness Garden on three of the aft decks.
The ship’s Plaza, which encompasses the reception area and Cove Bar, was improved through added architectural detail focusing on decorative finishes and soft furnishings.
