MacGregor, part of Cargotec, opens the discussion about a new cooperative drive to renew and transform the maritime industry at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, during 6 - 9 September, 2016.

Today's marine and offshore industries are built on decades of experience but, in part, also on far-reaching outdated processes and solutions. "In the segments where we operate, we have identified a lot of unnecessary waste in the form of inefficiencies, outdated practices, damage to cargo and dangerous working conditions for shipboard crew and stevedores. In today's current climate, addressing these issues is more crucial than ever. This is why we are calling for change," says Michel van Roozendaal, President, MacGregor.

MacGregor is committed to optimizing the lifetime profitability, efficiency, safety, reliability and environmental sustainability of its customers operations, but understands that this is best done in close cooperation with customers and other stakeholders. During SMM MacGregor will host an exclusive industry renewal discussion to boost the transformation. Step-changes in productivity will be driven by advances in connectivity and digitalization, along with new business models and new capabilities.

At SMM, MacGregor will have a range of experts available to discuss how it is able to maximize the earning potential of every ship type and will also demonstrate innovative solutions, such as the interactive simulation platform, C-How. It is extremely flexible and can be used as an interactive calculation tool, visualizing loading scenarios without any risks.
