Fortress Marine Anchors Provides Support to International Rescue Group
Fortress Marine Anchors, the leader in lightweight, high-holding anchors for recreational and commercial vessels, has partnered with International Rescue Group (IRG). It donated anchors for the organization's boats and produced an online video (above).
Founded in 2010, IRG uses donated vessels to deliver food, water and medical supplies to coastal communities affected by disaster. Often more nimble with the ability to respond quicker than governments and national humanitarian aid agencies, its 70 volunteers and 15 boats play a vital role in filling the life-threatening gap prior to large-scale responses. A 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, its website is www.internationalrescuegroup.org.
"We're pleased to offer our assistance to Captain Ray Thackeray, IRG's executive director," said Brian Sheehan, Fortress Marine Anchors sales and marketing director. "The devastation caused by just one hurricane is heartbreaking, but 2017 was an unprecedented year. We're proud to partner with them in their important work."
"Fortress has been IRG's longest and most generous contributor," said Thackeray. "We're very grateful for all their help—and so are our aid recipients."
