International energy consultancy Xodus Group has appointed Alistair Porter as Operations Director for London to drive forward business across the company’s technical and commercial activities.

Based in London, Mr Porter has been with Xodus since it was founded seven years ago and previously held the role of Global Process and Facilities Director where he managed a team of 130 engineers.  As Operations Director for London, he will be responsible for growing the financial and operational performance of the London Business Unit.

Alistair is an experienced process engineer and development engineering specialist with more than 23 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.  His main responsibilities have covered a range of engineering disciplines, including: study and department management; field development; feasibility and screening studies; bid preparation and conceptual studies; FEED and detail design; operational support and commissioning.

From Total Field Development (including exploration and new ventures) to integrated projects and asset support, the London Hub supports the group’s global capabilities and service lines to ultimately improve its client’s business through all phases of an energy asset’s life-cycle.

As a unique offering, the hub also delivers Management Consultancy support to provide specialist advisory services encompassing technical considerations, risk, value, regulatory compliance and business process re-engineering.  It works with a wide range of clients including IOC’s and NOC’s, banks, investors and law firms as well as government bodies and public-sector institutions.

Mr Porter said: “It’s a great privilege to take on this appointment and further develop the service offering and capabilities of the hugely experienced team in London.  As an integrated oil & gas and energy consultancy, the London hub works closely with colleagues and clients from around the globe and it is my aim to expand and deliver our international growth ambitions and technological advances.”

Stephen Swindell, COO of Xodus Group added “Alistair has been with the company from the very beginning and is one of the linchpins of the business.  He has successfully grown and strengthened our global reputation and expertise in his previous roles with the company, and I am extremely confident he will be instrumental in making London a major engineering centre for Xodus.”
