Currently under construction at Swiftships is a colossal 210 foot aluminum Fast Supply Vessel (FSV) which will serve as the parent craft for the development of Swiftships' 65 meter Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) design. The FSV, which will operate in the Gulf of Mexico, is ABS classed, DP-2 certified, and designed to accommodate propulsion with either waterjets or propellers. Its lightweight aluminum superstructure coupled with Swiftships' proprietary design allows for high-speed performance and delivery capabilities.

The original hull, which has designed to transport personnel and supplies to and from offshore facilities, has been redesigned with plans for a sister craft which will be capable of performing intelligence, reconnaissance, patrol, assault, and rescues missions. The new commercial hull will serve as Swiftships platform for the development of a new breed of OPVs.

"It is part of Swiftships heritage to be at the forefront of innovation and design in the shipbuilding industry" said Jeff Leleux, President of Swiftships, "It was from an existing commercial hull that we developed the notorious 'Swift' Boat, and it is a proven commercial hull from which we will develop this new breed of patrol vessels."

The 65 meter OPV can be designed to accommodate a variety of mission packages. The proposed design by Swiftships can accommodate 42 crew members with 12 days endurance (4, 000 nautical miles at 15 knots). The vessel is equipped with a RHIB aft, a stabilized 76 mm Oto Malara cannon on the forward main deck, two stabilized Oto Melara 30 mm guns, two 12.7 mm machine guns, and a fire control radar system. The lightweight aluminum superstructure allows the OPV to reach speeds in excess of 35 knots, creating a vessel with a lethal combination of speed, power, and maneuverability.
