Siport21 Receives Spanish Naval Engineering Association Award

Siport21 has received the 2013 Spanish Naval Engineering Association Award to the best company in the naval and maritime sector. These awards are called with the aim of encouraging the progress of Shipbuilding technique, Maritime Transport and Auxiliary Industry, as well as motivating best professional practice of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. Since 1998, they are annual prizes and companies like Indra, Iberdrola, Cehipar, SENER, Ghenova, Seaplace, CIMNE, Balearia, Astilleros Murueta have been awarded.

Established in 1999, Siport21 is a maritime and port engineering Spanish SME. The company is focused on ship manoeuvring studies in port areas, moored ship behaviour studies, maritime safety projects, nautical risk assessment, analysis of floating structures and offshore wind farms. Also, it carries out training programs for Merchant Marine Staff.

Since its foundation, a huge amount of economical and human resources has been assigned to be at the vanguard of its knowledge area. Some of its members have participated in the Technical Committee of Spanish Port Authority for developing the Spanish Guidelines for the design, construction and operation of port infrastructure and navigation areas (ROM). Also, they are members of different working groups of International Navigation Association (PIANC) and participate in international congresses.

They are pioneer in the installation and implementation of numerical ship manoeuvring models and ship manoeuvring simulators in a private company in Spain.

Nowadays, Siport21 has developed more than 500 technical studies spread out all over the Spanish coast and they have worked in 30 other countries. It is also shareholder of a Spanish-Mexican company, Kapsis Puertos y Costas, in order to strengthen its international activity.

This company is one of the global references in maritime engineering, specifically in ship behaviour and manoeuvring. The company continues growing up in innovation and new business areas.
