Pan Ocean Orders OCTOPUS-Onboard

The Korean based global shipping company Pan Ocean, has ordered OCTOPUS-Onboard system from Amarcon for two semi-submersible heavy lift vessels. The state-of-the-art ship monitoring and advisory system will support the vessels’ route planning, optimization of speed, heading and fuel consumption.

With this latest order for Pan Ocean, Amarcon has equipped more than 80 percent of semi-submersible heavy lift vessels sailing across the globe with the OCTOPUS suite of products. General manager from Amarcon, Leon Adegeest says: “Semi-submersible heavy lift vessels operate in highly demanding conditions where ship monitoring and advisory data is key to safe and efficient operations.

We designed the OCTOPUS-Onboard system to meet the requirements of these special vessels and are pleased that an increasing number of leading shipping companies such as Pan Ocean rely on our system to optimize vessel operations. For this order, we worked closely together with ABB’s sales team in Korea.
